Región Austral is an urban design, landscape architecture and territorial planning studio dedicated to designing cities and territories through interdisciplinary collaboration, citizen participation and a strategic understanding of social, infrastructural and ecological dynamics.
The studio specializes in leading urban projects focused on resilience, the improvement of vulnerable neighborhoods, sustainable infrastructure, and ecological design across Latin America. Its methodology is rooted in a multiscalar and interdisciplinary approach, with significant contributions to the implementation of architectural and urban projects in various cities throughout the region.
Región Austral is led by Soledad Patiño and Stefano Romagnoli, who complement their practice with research and teaching projects at both national and international levels.

Lectures
Soledad Patiño
Argentine architect and urban planner, Master of Architecture in Urban Design from Harvard University, graduating with distinction in 2020, and graduate of the National University of Córdoba (2016). She works as a consultant for the Housing and Urban Development Division of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) in Chile and Argentina. Winner of numerous national and international competitions and research grants, her practice focuses on projects involving housing, slum upgrading, sustainable infrastructure, and the environment at multiple scales. She was a Research Associate at Harvard University and a Fulbright Scholar from the Argentine Ministry of Education. She is currently a lecturer at the Harvard Graduate School of Design.
Stefano Romagnoli
Stefano Romagnoli is a landscape architect who graduated from the National University of Córdoba in Argentina and holds a Master's degree in Landscape Architecture from the Harvard Graduate School of Design. He is co-founder and director of the Región Austral office. He has been a research associate at Harvard University and is currently an external consultant for the Housing and Urban Development Division of the IDB. He has won numerous national and international competitions, as well as research grants. His work focuses on projects involving environmental, social, economic and infrastructure issues at multiple scales, such as renewable energy development, regenerative agriculture, regional planning, resilience and climate change adaptation.
